(and yes that is in the 6th gear) same gear, same speed but higher rpm has only one explanation - clutch slipping same problem with me! is it the weather? or it might be my power commander it could be your clutch or power converter. you clutch could be slipping or your power converter could be failing. or the gauge could be out of wack. Power converter? What is that? Definitely a clutch problem--If it is slipping like that in 6th gear you better get to it pretty quick or you will end up with bunches of little metal pieces in your oil pick up and that ain't good. I am currently going through the online course to get my captains license (6 pack) and i had a few questions on the study material. The verbiage is very vague. When i study normally, i breakdown what they are trying to say in ways that are easier for me to understand. My question is, because the verbiage is so strange, when i go take the test, am i going to have to remember this stuff Verbatim or will i be ok if i break it down in ways i can effectively understand and learn it. For an example, here is how the book reads rule 6 - safe speed "Every vessel shall at all times proceed at a safe speed so that she can take proper and effective action to avoid collision and be stopped within a distance appropriate to the prevailing circumstances and conditions." but here is how i break it down. "any vessel should maintain a speed that will allow proper action to avoid collision" I know its almost the same, but that's what i am curios about. car insurance. Daewoo . How to Replace a GMC Truck Fuel PumpThe fuel pump module on a GMC truck is installed directly within the fuel tank. Like many of its type, removing and replacing a defective fuel pump means removing the tank from the truck itself first. In most cases, you need to replace the entire pump module. You can switch the fuel sensor unit to a new module on some newer models. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Shop rags Screwdrivers Floor jack Jack stands Wrench Locking pump pliers Hammer and brass punch MarkerRemoving the Fuel Tank Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the truck's negative battery cable. 2 Unscrew and remove the cap for the fuel pressure test port, which is usually located on the right side fuel rail. Wrap shop rags around the port and then relieve the pressure by pressing on the valve in the port with a small screwdriver. 3 Raise the truck's rear end using a floor jack and support it on jack stands. Remove the bolts for the tank's rock guard using a wrench and remove the guard. 4 Loosen the hose clamp screws for the tank's filler neck hose and vent hose with a screwdriver and disconnect the hoses from the tank. Disconnect the tank's EVAP line at the EVAP canister, then disconnect the fuel supply line at its quick-connect fitting. 5 Unbolt the fuel tank straps with the wrench while another person supports the tank. Lower the tank until you can reach the electrical connectors to the fuel pump module, then disconnect them and remove the tank. Removing the Pump Module Step by Step : 1 Grasp one end of the fuel pump retaining ring with locking pump pliers and turn it counterclockwise to unscrew and remove it. Tap the ring with a hammer and brass punch--not a steel one--if the ring needs help loosening, 2 Draw alignment marks with a marker on both the pump's mounting flange and the fuel tank. Use the pump's alignment mark as a guide to draw a mark on the replacement pump module. 3 Lift the fuel pump module out of the tank until you can reach the quick-connect fitting for the ventilation harness. Disconnect this fitting and remove the module. 4 Pull off the O-ring surrounding the mounting hole in the tank and inspect it. Replace the ring if it is cracked or deteriorated in any way. Replacing the Pump Step by Step : 1 Lower the replacement fuel pump down into the fuel tank using the alignment marks to position it. Tilt the module at an angle as you insert it so you don't damage the float arm. 2 Screw the locking ring in place and tighten it down using the water pump pliers or the punch and hammer. 3 Connect the fuel supply and vent lines and the electrical connectors to the fuel pump mounting flange using their quick-connect fittings. 4 Raise the fuel tank into position on the truck with your assistant's help and secure the tank with the straps, bolting them in place with your wrench. 5 Connect the filler and vent hoses to the tank using their hose clamps and your screwdriver. Connect all other supply and EVAP lines using the quick-connect fittings. 6 Bolt the rock guard back over the tank with the wrench, then lower the truck off the jack stands and reconnect the battery cable. Tips & Warnings If you can transfer the fuel sensor unit from the old pump to the new one, disconnect the sending unit's electrical connector and and wiring harness and then remove the sensor unit. Slide the unit in place on the new pump module until you hear it click into place and then connect the wiring.
Daewoo . How to Replace a 1995 GMC Sierra Fuel PumpThe fuel pump in your 1995 GMC Sierra pickup transports the fuel from the gas tank to the fuel injection system. It's located inside of the gas tank, and it uses the fuel to cool itself down. If you frequently drive the truck with low gas, the fuel pump can overheat. This causes it to fail prematurely and it will have to be replaced. This is not a simple process, and involves some heavy lifting and a bit of awkward movements, but it can be done in an afternoon. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Jack stands 2-foot long wood block 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and socket set Brass drift Brass hammer Replacement fuel pump Flat head screwdriverSuggest EditsItem AddWhy is it necessary?Done Step by Step : 1 Lift up the Sierra with the jack and put it on four jack stands that are positioned so that the bottom of the frame is least two feet off the ground. Place the wood block on the jack and lift it up until it contacts the bottom center of the gas tank. 2 Unbolt the gas-tank mounting straps from the frame using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets. Remove the hose clamp securing the gas-filler neck to the tank using the flat head screwdriver. Slowly lower the tank until you can access the top of the tank. Remove the clamps on the fuel lines using the flat head screwdriver, then unplug the wiring harness. Lower the tank all the way to the ground and pull it out from underneath the truck so you have full access to the top of the tank. 3 Locate the locking ring on the top of the fuel pump in the center of the tank. Place the head of the brass drift on the locking ring and hit it with the brass hammer to turn the locking ring counterclockwise. Pull off the locking ring from the pump and then carefully remove the pump from the tank, lifting it up and twisting it around to get the gas tank float out of the tank as well. Discard the old pump. 4 Set the replacement fuel pump in the tank and reinstall the locking ring using the brass drift and hammer. Slide the tank under the truck and lift it back into the frame using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket, and reconnect the fuel lines and harnesses as well. Reconnect the fuel-filler neck to the tank with the flat head screwdriver. Lower the vehicle off the jack stands with the jack. Tips & Warnings If you have access to a few friends, it's sometimes easier to remove the truck bed to access the fuel pump. In that case, unbolt the bed from the frame, disconnect the wiring to the taillights, and lift it up and off the truck. Never smoke or have an open flame nearby while you're working on the fuel system of a vehicle. If you do, you risk causing a fire and damaging yourself and the vehicle. *Shopping for Toots — w Tool prices vary widely, but if you keep your eyes open and know where to go, whom to talk to, and what to look for, you can get a good value at a fair price. 2 Q Part I: Getting Started. Shop for tools in a major auto parts chain store, and stick to well-known brands. Watch the newspaper for sales; most chains have them regularly, and you can save a lot of money. Buy each kind of tool in sets of different sizes rather than buying at random. You can save money this way. Look for high-grade steel with no rough edges. 149

Most of them are auto enthusiasts who will be delighted that you're planning to do your own work (and be a future customer), and they'll be happy to point out the best buys. Buying everything at once isn't necessary to get started on your car; use the beg, borrow, and steal-from-the-family-toolbox methods if you must. The important thing is to get to work! Screwdrivers There are two basic types of screwdrivers: standard, or slot, screwdrivers (the most common type) and Phillips screwdrivers. The difference between a standard screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver is the shape of the head, as shown in Figures 2-1 and 2-2. You use Phillips screwdrivers with Phillips screws, and standard screwdrivers with — you guessed it — standard screws. Using a screwdriver of the wrong type or size can damage the screw, the screwdriver, and even you if your hand slips while you're struggling to use Daewoo . Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab. * the tool. Always use a screwdriver with a tip that's the same width and type as the head of the screw you're working on. Because you usually can't use a standard screwdriver on a Phillips screw or vice versa (except for some Phillips/slot head screws that can be tightened or loosened by a standard blade type or Phillips head screwdriver), and because your car is fitted with both types of screws in a variety of sizes, you need several of each type (not just for your vehicle, but for almost anything around the house). Shafts vary in length too, which is useful because a longer shaft provides greater access to "buried" screws, while a shorter shaft gets into tight places more easily. Handles also vary. It's important to have large, easy-to-grip handles to help you loosen tight screws. You can get all the screwdrivers you need for relatively little money. Look for sales on plastic- or rubber-handled screwdrivers in sets of varying sizes. .Chapter 2: The Way to Your Car's Heart Is through Your Toolbox Figure 2-1: Standard screws and screwdrivers.
